KAT EHF from Iceland chooses combined pallet sorting and repair line from Pallet Sorting Systems

KAT EHF is the first customer in Iceland to invest in a combined pallet sorting and repair line from Pallet Sorting Systems. This modular line is designed for two pallet repairers, who can directly feed repaired pallets into one of the eight stackers connected to the repair line.

The pallets are sorted by an operator who inspects each pallet and, with the push of a button, sends it to the correct stacker. Seven pallet types are distinguished, along with a separate stream for defective pallets. These defective pallets are transported by forklift to the side entry of the repair stations, where the repairers receive them at working height. Each workstation is equipped with a lifting table to eliminate manual lifting.

KAT EHF operates in Icelandic port logistics, where large volumes of Europallets, Industrial pallets and GMA pallets arrive daily. By investing in this sorting and repair line, the company can efficiently inspect, repair, and reintegrate used pallets into the supply chain.

The system contributes to a safe, efficient, and well-organized working environment. The machines from Pallet Sorting Systems are equipped with SCADA software that provides reports on sorting results, working hours, and the number of pallets repaired per employee.

Thanks to its modular design, the system is easy to expand and future-proof – reducing manual labor and increasing focus on quality and continuity in pallet processing.
