Erico Ltd, active in pallet logistics across the United Kingdom, has commissioned its sixth pallet sorting line from Pallet Sorting Systems (PSS).
This investment reinforces the long-term collaboration and highlights Erico’s confidence in the reliability and continuity of the PSS sorting technology.
The new installation fits within Erico’s multi-site strategy to standardize sorting systems across all locations.
The PSS sorting line is built for automatic sorting and stacking of multiple pallet types without manual adjustments.
It processes:
800 × 1200 mm pallets (light, medium, and heavy Euro pallets),
1000 × 1200 mm pallets (UK Standard),
and mixed pallet flows in a single continuous operation.
With this configuration, one operator can sort up to 500 pallets per hour.
This enables consistent and uniform sorting, while the number of forklift movements is reduced by approximately 50%.
Automated infeed and outfeed minimize manual handling and ensure a stable, continuous pallet flow in a dynamic working environment.
The Erico sorting line features eight automatic stackers, enabling organized stacking of pallets by type or quality.
The integrated PSS SCADA system provides real-time visibility into:
processed pallet counts,
machine status and downtime,
maintenance indicators and performance data.
A daily CSV sorting report is automatically generated, giving operators and supervisors full control over the process through an intuitive interface.
In addition to SCADA monitoring, the PSS App provides remote access to production data via smartphone or computer.
Users can track sorting performance, analyze trends, and receive maintenance alerts.
This digital integration helps Erico’s management optimize production planning and minimize downtime.
Erico’s decision to implement the same sorting technology across all sites is part of a multi-site standardization strategy.
This approach provides:
Uniform operation and maintenance procedures,
Easy exchange of operators and technicians,
Consistent quality and predictable performance across the network.
The standardized system simplifies training and service, while ensuring operational consistency and reliability throughout all Erico locations.
PSS sorting lines can be easily integrated into existing or new setups, such as:
Pallet repair lines,
Paint booths,
or AI-based pallet recognition with Ai4Pallets.
Thanks to the modular design, each system can be configured to match specific customer requirements regarding capacity, maintenance and space.
PSS machines are compatible with various pallet types, including 800×1200, 1000×1200, and 1200×1200 mm, covering Euro pallets, pool pallets, block pallets and GMA pallets (40×48 inch).
With its sixth PSS pallet sorting line, Erico Ltd now operates a uniform, efficient and reliable system for automatic pallet handling.
The line enables higher throughput, reduced manual handling and real-time performance tracking through SCADA and the PSS App.
This standardized approach strengthens operational continuity and simplifies maintenance across all sites.
